Contest rules

Calling all shutterbug geocachers! Help us showcase the best of geocaching through the lens of your phone or camera. To enter or vote, visit the WGA Facebook page and look for the current Photo of the Month post, pinned at the top of the page.

Submit photo on Facebook

Submit a photo on the WGA Facebook page in the monthly photo of the month post by adding your photo in a post comment, along with your geocaching name. A brief description of the photo is also recommended.

One Winning Photo per Calendar Year

You can enter multiple photos, but only one photo per calendar year per geocaching name can win. (In the event a previous month’s winner has the most likes on the current month’s contest, the prize will be awarded to the next eligible placing photo.) The owner of the Facebook account who posted the picture will be considered as the geocacher who is entering the photo.

Yearly Winner Contest

All Photo of the Month winners for the prior calendar year will be compiled and posted as a special Facebook post in early January. Votes for the PHOTO OF THE YEAR will be made by liking favorite photo(s) and the winner declared on February 1. Photo of the Year winner receives a bonus WGA gift certificate.

Geocaching Photos IDeal

Photos are encouraged to be scenes of geocaching in Wisconsin, but geocachers enjoy exploring new places, so photos from outside of Wisconsin are also eligible to win.

Winner Selection

The picture with the highest number of likes by the end of the month will be awarded a WGA gift certificate and be showcased as the cover photo of the WGA Facebook page for the following month. The number of likes on the photos in the post will be counted on the 1 ^st of the month for the previous month by the WGA board to determine the winning photo.

Tie Breakers

Two-way ties will share the spotlight and be declared co-winners for the month. If 3 or more photos tie for most likes, there will be a week-long special voting Facebook post to determine the winner. If the tiebreaker post continues to end in a tie, the WGA board will vote to determine the winner.
