The WGA provides many activities which help bring the community together.

Education

Directly hosts educational geocaching events and provides resources for members to do the same.

Social Media

Organize our presence and messaging on social media sites which are Facebook, Instagram, and X (Formerly Twitter).

Newsletter

Write and curate content for our quarterly email newsletter and monthly newsletters.

Photo of the Month

Organize a monthly photo contest among members.

Cache Spotlight

Maintain a bookmark of the oldest caches in each of Wisconsin’s 72 counties, highlight new and well-respected caches from around the state.

Geocaching Games and Cache Series

State Park Series

Work with trail bosses to monitor and maintain the WGA State Park Series across the State.

Ice Age Trail

Work with trail bosses to monitor and maintain the WGA IAT series caches across the State.

Yellowstone Trail

Work with the current trailbosses and monitor the bonus caches.

Lonely Cache Game

Manage and promote the WGA Lonely Cache Game (LCG) and advise the board on potential changes to the game’s rules. Organize a yearly WGA LCG event to highlight the Lonely Cache Game and its top players for the previous year.

Travel Bug Race

Organize a yearly trackable race.

Event Planning

Spring Picnic

Plan and host the annual Spring Picnic event.

West Bend Cache Bash

While not a WGA specific event, the WGA does participate in the event as a vendor. This committee plans for the WGA presence at the West Bend Cache Ba$h.

West Bend Cache Bash – Pancake Breakfast

Plan and host the annual Pancake Breakfast event the Sunday after West Bend Cache Ba$h.

Fall Campout

Plan and host the annual Fall Picnic event.

GIFF

Plan and host a WGA GIFF event each year that Geocaching HQ holds the GIFF contest.

Chili

Plan and host the annual Chili Feed member give-back event.

Administration and Support

Technology

Provide support for the technology that the Association uses, including website maintenance.

Historical

Record the history of the WGA and make it available via the website. Serve as a liason with past board members.

Membership

Monitor for new member and newsletter signups to welcome new people to the WGA. Weed out spam accounts.

Kidz Club

Explore ways to engage kids during WGA events.

Merchandise

Organize, design and determine the merchandise needs for the upcoming year.
