Get to know Barry a.k.a. Sweetlife

1.       What is your geocaching name?

Sweetlife

2. How did you choose your geocaching name?

Val and I mixed parts of our email addresses and came up with it.

3. How long have you been on the WGA Board of Directors?

This is my 3rd year on the BOD, was elected in 2010.

4. Which is your favorite WGA event?

The pancake breakfast at West Bend. It gives the weekend a great ending, and I enjoy flipping the pancakes, brings back memories of cooking at scout camp.

5. What is your favorite season for geocaching?

Fall is our favorite time of the year, the colors and fewer bugs make it a great time to be outdoors.

6. If you had to choose, would you prefer a higher difficulty or a higher terrain geocache to find?

Actually neither, prefer to find a walking trail that is somewhat wheelchair friendly so that Val and I can cache together.

7. That little blue ? (puzzle caches), do you love them or hate them?

Field solve puzzles, and challenge caches are great, but anything that causes you to sit in front of the computer for hours is not for me.

8. Do you have any pets?

We have 3 dogs, 2 yorkies, and a jack russel/doxie mix. We also have a Blue and Gold Macaw who might just be outside and talk to you when you find the cache in our yard.

9. What other hobbies/interests do you enjoy besides geocaching?

For 20 years, I have volunteered for the ambulance service in my area and the Fire Department on the ambulance.  I drive 3 nights a week, at the Fire Department, currently I am the Assistant Chief.

10. Describe your favorite type of geocaching adventure.

Anything where Val and I can spend time together. Hiking or biking trails, large parks, or even areas of a city with many caches that we can walk to.

Get to know Rob a.k.a. Averith

1. What is your geocaching name?

Geocaching name is Averith.

2. How did you choose your geocaching name?

The name Averith was a name I made up when I played Dungeons & Dragons back in high school.

3. How long have you been on the WGA Board of Directors?

I am coming to the end of my first two year term on the board.

4. Which is your favorite WGA event?

By far my favorite WGA event is the camp out. I love spending the entire weekend with my caching friends.

5. What is your favorite season for geocaching?

I love caching in the fall, cooler temps and fewer bugs make for a much better experience.

6. If you had to choose, would you prefer a higher difficulty or a higher terrain geocache to find?

I would have to say higher difficulty, I'm more about the mental challenge of the hunt then the physical challenge getting to the cache.

7. That little blue ? (puzzle caches), do you love them or hate them?

Let's just say that puzzles and I don't get along well. I wish I had the patience to figure out puzzle caches, but I know that I don't.

8. Do you have any pets?

We are definitely cat people.

9. What other hobbies/interests do you enjoy besides geocaching?

Computer games (Minecraft), board games (Settlers of Catan), and reading (science fiction)

10. Describe your favorite type of geocaching adventure.

Geocaching with friends in a group is my favorite geocaching adventure.
