WGA Fall Picnic
It’s that time of year again! I see some leaves on the trees starting to turn colors and even some on the ground. Instead of picking ticks off of me when I go out into the woods, I’m now picking burrs off my clothes. Fall is just around the corner. So what does that mean? It’s time for the annual WGA Fall Picnic!
This year’s fall picnic will be held at Governor Thompson State Park on 9/21/13. We hope to see you there! We’re excited to be using the brand new facilities at the park.
From the WI DNR website: “Governor Thompson State Park was established in 2000, the Wisconsin State Park System's centennial year. With more than 2,800 acres of woods, a family campground, picnic area on Woods Lake, skiing and hiking trails, and six miles of shoreline on the Caldron Falls Flowage, visitors will find an atmosphere that is perfect for solitude, reflection, and recreation.”
If you come to the Fall Picnic you’ll be able to find the new caches that were placed especially for the picnic, including the latest WGA State Parks series cache. There will be lots of opportunities for geo-chatting, grills available for meat and a potluck for the rest of your lunch and dinner. Don’t forget to check the cache page to see what kind of dish to pass for the potluck. If you’d like your own personalized nametag register on the WGA site. There will be lots of opportunities for geo-chatting and games to play. We’re going to have a great time, hope to see you there!
