Letter from the President
As I approached the registration area at the West Bend Cache Ba$h on Friday, I had a sense that this might be a Ba$h to remember. Although the WGA does not promote the WBCB, we DO support it through Geo 101 and assisting in other areas during the weekend, as well as hosting the breakfast on Sunday morning.
Now, why was this a Ba$h to remember? During the 2 days that the WGA was providing various marketing opportunites of path tags and merchandise, being manned by people that volunteer their time, goods, and services, the WGA had GROSS revenue of over $4000!
I, personally, cannot thank everyone enough for their support of this Association! It was an AMAZING weekend!
So now it's time to celebrate the upcoming fall color season with the WGA Picnic. Since our Campout was held at Wisconsin's oldest State Park this spring, let's visit Wisconsin's newest State Park; Governor Thompson State Park near Crivitz! Check out the Events Listing for this September 21st Event!
The first WGA State Park caches have been published, with more being hidden in the coming months. We are still looking for cache hiders. Contact any Director if you are interested. Do I see a State Park Challenge on the horizon?
We are hoping to open the WGA Store for your holiday shopping needs. We will be offering WGA Travel Tags and merchandise to add to your collection!
It's not too early to consider running for a position on the WGA Board of Directors. Giving some time back to this wonderful group is an extremely satisfying opportunity!
See you at the picnic!
