This sticky forum topic is provided for WGA members to share their recommendations regarding “must find” geocaches in this region.

Please provide a link to the cache page for any geocache that you recommend. Remember that you can simply enter the waypoint (GC) code for the geocache and the forum software will automatically take care of generating the link (like this: GC3B1). Alternatively, you can post a link to a geocaching.com bookmark list containing your recommendations.

If there is a need to edit or delete your recommendations at a future date, just post a note in this topic and one of our forum admins will take care of making the change.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

I can't let this post go empty anymore! I keep checking back for caches that I may have already found or those that I'm planning on a future trip. The lack of interest is driving me nuts! Soooo, I'm going to offer my two cents!

These all involve a good hike, especially in the winter, so get your X-C skis or snowshoes ready.

(GC1X14X) McCarthy Lake: Beautiful deep woods lake. Go on a sunny winter day. It will glisten like diamonds.

(GCP6Z5) Red Pine Portal: Massive cedars and pines. I hit it from the east. Snowshoes are the best choice here.

Tag, Now it's your turn.

It's been over a year and no one is interested!? Or they dislike ticks (Mistake, that's another post...). Brag about a cache you really found enjoyable. I truly love to explore up north (No offense intended Southern Wisconsin). If you could, tell a little bit of "why" it was great, that would be even better! I'm slowly moving into the "Hayward Cheesheads" territory and have a few on my radar and I know there are others such as the waterfalls series and uws 22's as well as Passing Winds. Who am I missing? It seems like I find a lot of logs filled with names from down south so I know you travel there. Offer your opinion if you could.

Thanks in advance!

Bearing tree Treaty tree of 1847 SpeakIng softly

I've been working on clearing out from 51 to the west over to 17 on the east and 8 south up to 70 on the north. Lot of good caches if you don't mind a hike. Something I really enjoy. Just did this one last weekend even though its on the wrong side of 70 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GCJH7T

Had a great day hiking the trail between Three Lakes and Eagle River.

Not exactly a power trail as the caches are about 1/2 mile apart. but was a great trail.
