Trekkin' is demonstrating (sort of) his caching name today in Oshkosh.
I can tell you that everything he's wearing has been documented with two primary sources as "correct." Except the beard. That would not be correct.

His sister and her husband came down from DePere to visit with him and take in the trade fair. She sent me photos.

Good morning. Watching the Canadians beating up the Swedes. Pancake breakfast later.

Noonan, you wanna talk about stupid challenge caches?

Take a look at this map. A trail of challenge caches on highway 23 by the Big Mac bridge in lower Michigan.

What makes these challenges stupid?

I looked at them and I don't see anything stupid about them. The requirements make them a nice reward for those who came often and a nice goal for newer cachers to work towards. If they weren't so far away we would probably do them and we're not about the numbers.

We're headed out for a pancake breakfast in about 15 minutes! LOL Then we're taking some friends to the Dells to catch a train, then we're doing some shopping, then we're going to see my sister and also to look at my niece's new house in Mauston.

Probably won't be looking for any caches because the back roads are so icy around here. Shocked

Those aren't any different than the ones zuma put on the Chippewa Trail. We may be doing the re-enactment at Fort Michilimackinac this summer and we could look for these before or after that. In my opinion, challenges are getting beaten to death and there are some really nutty ones out there just so people can get a challenge. We don't have to do them, but some people really like them. These are, as Mr. GT said, mostly attainable for newer cachers.

There have only been a few challenge caches that I have gone out of my way to meet the requirements: Badger State Challenge- 72 Counties, Roadside Weirdness Challenge, WI Rustic Roads Challenge, and of course the Tour de Adams County Challenge. Any others that I happen to come upon, if I meet the requirements I log them, if not I don't.

Emerged from the sleeping bags around 9am and now it's time to watch the closing ceremony.
