CJ, I see you are under 10 minute miles Very Happy

The wife is not happy with me. Good thing I am going out this evening.

I'm hoping your wife not being happy has nothing to do with my running.

I'm under 10, but only for shorter (relative term) distances. Incremental progress is great though and the mapmyfitness app is great at tracking this. I actually had a 1/2 mile split under the 9 minute mark for the first time ever also so that was pretty cool.

Speaking of "cool" - The Oshkosh YMCA has the following 5K on 1/1/2014.
Resolution Run

Noodlini 5K the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Be there!

Your not doing the 15k? It's a nice flat course or was when I used to do it.

Thinking about it.

Actually I'm thinking in "challenge cache" mode. How about a 5K in every month of the year? An "All Weather Runner". wink Shocked Laughing

My fun continues. This morning I inherited the "Wholly Mackerel". The is a real rubber fish about 10 inches long that I know get to display proudly in my office.

This is a traveling "award" that is presented by the manager when someone makes a "significant" mistake. The "honoree" gets to proudly display it until someone else has the @#*(^ moment.

I can't go into the specifics, but one of my direct reports questioned some work I directed someone else to do. As it turns out I made a "small typo" which results in a "little" rework. I fessed up immediately and laughed with my new team (what a great trust builder). I now them lunch (my pocket not the company card) as well as have to help fix the mistake. Definately a great opportunity to lead by example (fess up immediately / don't hide it, take responsibility, own the solution, etc.)

Congratulations ( I guess) on the "award". Really it is a good thing to show others that you are not infallible and that everyone can make mistakes.

I had to write myself up for an incident today too. Brings you back to reality and that attention to detail can make all the difference.

More good news on the job hunting scene. Looks like I'm just waiting on HR to call for paperwork. Very Happy
