Even before my arm broke, our caching has gone way down. We haven't regretted that fact, either. Saving gas, doing other things we enjoy. There will always be caches to be found when we feel the 'need."

I took the opportunity to hike out to a spot I've never been been always wanted to go. Placing a cache was an added bonus. Wonder if I should publish now or what a few days for things to soften a bit more. Given I was breaking through with 36" snowshoes it won't be long before knee boots (or more) are required. A canoe or kayak would also work here if you came from a different direction.

SL how much snow did you get over there? That Cty G from 21 to J is a real picnic when it's wet I bet.

I recognize the area, CJ! Any sandhill cranes out there yet? Or whoopers?

It's always exciting when you're crossing a creek and the snowshoe breaks through and you balance yourself on the poles as you work it back out. Twice in a row with the right foot on this spot alone.

2.3 miles total and about 1/3 was over terrain that sank a few inches with each step causing water to bubble up in a 20' radius. Definately good to keep moving because if I stopped the ice would collapse under me.

But there is a nice ammo box out there someplace with our 16th president waiting for the FTF.

No birds of any kind, but I did get a good view of an otter from 20' away before he dove into the ditch.

I got back to my blog. Removed all my old posts, re-titled the blog, and made my first post.

Still a work in progress, but check it out.
