I might be able to get Trekkin' to take me to a place where every other birder in the area has seen a bunch of Short Eared Owls the past couple days. Probably beyond camera range, but I don't care. |

Any jerks there today? Yesterday some idiots were throwing snowballs at it to get it to fly for the camera. Unbelievable! I hope it decides to move on soon. I know the earlier offenders were escorted out of there a couple of days ago by the warden, carrying citations as they went. It only takes a couple of idiots to ruin a gift like this for everyone else, and most importantly...for the bird itself. |

No jerks. About a half dozen "professionals" were lined up roadside with their huge scopes/lenses and wearing warm camo. They were behaving properly and politely. |

Has anyone spotted BigJim in the Auburndale crowd? I can't stand to watch basketball long enough to look for him. |

No sighting of Jim, but both teams are putting in their seniors. Sadly Auburndale is going to lose with 10 seconds left. |

No Big Jim sighting, the game kind of went the way I thought. Hawkins was great for Auburndale.
Now on to the second half of the Golden Eagles and Red Storm. |

It's a good thing that snowbank was there as my brakes wouldn't have stopped me in time. |

Preliminary word from the Oconomowoc Forensic's meet is that I better start solving some puzzles in the Oshkosh area.
I will believe it when I see the score sheets upon her return. |

Snowshoes and knee high rubber boots. Now that's an adventure. |

So much for me going anywhere, much less to see owls. There is solid ice in every direction from our back door to the garage. I cannot navigate that in comfort with an arm snugged to my body. We tried. Trekkin' doesn't want to bother with trying to guide me and bringing him down, too.
Sigh,
Great news, BBG. Forensics and debate were my gig in school, too. Along with band and drama. i graduated the spring before Title IX was enacted, so track was kind of a joke for me. |
