I told Mrs. BBG I am replacing her with Anne Hathaway. She is simply beautiful...even given her on screen persona I witnessed today. I thought Hugh Jackman was adequate at best. His performance seemed to lack emotional depth when needed most. I think it may be that he struggled as a tenor at times. THe others (crowe, seigfried, cohen et al.) were as good as expected.
I liked that the film was able to tell the story clearer than the stage performance. On stage the story gets muddled at times as you travel through the years. I did however really miss the intimacy you feel with live theatre.
It was worth the $6 ticket.
Now, Go Pack......my version of cultural diversity. |
