It surprised me to see how easily they gave up their licenses. I asked who they were and then asked to see their license to verify to ensure they weren't feeding me a line of crap.
As for "hit the throttle". That wasn't a good option considering I waited until they were about 25' away and then walked in front of them coming from the mailbox (what a great diversion).
Had I not had their licenses in hand I'm sure they would have hit the throttle as soon as I told them the police were on the way. And to think they got busted only 100' from the legal trail.
They don't belong to the local club either which really set the club's trail patrol off. I must admit it was nice to have the trail patrol tell them they deserved a citation right in front of Officer Friendly. |
