Snowing here again, and the thick stuff is still clinging to all the branches. I think I need to haul out the boots and go take some photos somewhere. |

So it wasn't pipes freezing, Jim? We had that once, not fun. Glad things are all better! |

Not quite cold enough for pipes to freeze just yet.
Glad it all worked out, Jim. |

The year it happened to us, we didn't think it was cold enough, either. Old houses have interesting arrangements when it comes to basements and pipe runs. We made sure it couldn't happen again. Once was enough. |

So do "newer" houses as we discovered one day when we had 3 inches of water in the basesment. The prior owners did a remodel and re-routed the outside faucet. The pipe froze and burst, so once the weather warmed up and it thawed out the water started flowing. I got the frantic call from my wife that water was coming out through the outlets and switches. The basement was finished and the water completely filled the backside which wasn't insulated. Total loss of the basement walls/carpet, but thankfully everything stored down there was in plastic totes or up on shelving so we lost virtually nothing material. |

And this festive game is guaranteed to help you kill some keyboard time while waiting for someone to finally post in the useless drivel thread... |

Having done my driveling duty for a bit, I will now retire to the recliner for some "NCIS", and then it's off to the kitchen to make some fudge. |
