I plan on biking the Omaha Trail from Elroy to Camp Douglas on April 5th. Right now I going solo, just wondering if anyone would like to meet up and cache as a team for the day. I plan on hitting the trail right at sunrise since daylight will be short. Let me know if you’re interested in teaming up.

That trail is on my to-do list but I'm busy that day (and most of the rest of the weekends from here until September). Hope you find a riding partner.

Nope, no snow tires but from what I have heard the trail is almost clear of snow. Maybe a little muddy, but that's all part of the fun.

I called the county forest and park department. The trail will be open. They said this trail is open all year round.

It maybe open year round but that doesn't mean it should be used year round. This time of year trail of this nature are very very soft and damaged easily. I rode by the WIOUWASH today and I was leaving tire ruts.

I did the northern 2/3rds of this trail last fall. In addition to the trail being clear, it is a crushed gravel trail and will likely be very soft. You also need to make sure that the snow has melted as all of the caches are off the trail and in the woods. Some on the ground. Make sure you do your homework on this trail, they were hidden by different hiders and some are much easier than others and some are much more difficult than others. You will also need a trail pass I believe. I am hoping to get up there later in April or May to work on these trails some more. Good Luck.

Thank you Uncle_Fun for the information. Yes this trail require a trail pass $1 for a day pass or $5 for a season. I have done a lot of homework about this trail. I have e-mailed about 5 different cachers who have cached on the trail and got a lot of helpful information from them. I keep getting snow reports from the area from one of my co-works, so I got that covered as well. Thank you again for the information.
