Not including adopted caches how many geocaches do you have placed as of today?

How would placing geocaches be a good quality for a WGA Director?

I have 29 of my own geocaches. I think that a better measuring stick would be how well the caches are maintained. A large proliferation of caches is Ok if they are maintained and kept active. Don't put out more caches than you can regularly maintain.

Placing caches and maintaining them shows responsibility.

Currently hold 51 active caches that I put out.
Several ideas in my head and some additional ones in the early planning stages.

(I do hold 6 ative caches that were adopted, 22 archived caches I placed and 4 archived adopted ones.)

Geocaching is a give/take relationship and being a giver is not only a good quality for a director but a good quality for any cacher. That being said, there are many thoughts on what makes a good giver but that is something that is often determined by the takers (finders).

quality vs quantity will always be an opinion and there will always be those on both sides.

Responsible placements in places that will not cause conflict with LEOs and/or homeowners, proper permissions and maintenance would be a better indicator in my opinion.

We currently have 9 geocaches placed between the Hartford and Delafield areas. I have a few sitting at home waiting to be placed as soon as the snow melts and it gets a bit warmer out (they've been my winter projects)!

As a WGA board member placing caches and keeping up on the maintanince not only shows responsibility but full involvement in the game and giving back to the geocaching community.

Hi Walkingadventure, we have a 207 total caches currently hidden. 36 caches have been archived, 22 caches that we adopted are Historic and have been adopted from lil otter that were placed in 2002. Some of my favorite caches that I like hiding for are Official WSQ's (86) , Waterfalls (16) and Firetowers(11).
Placing caches shows that you are giving back to the Geocaching Community. We have caches hidden from Little Suamico, WI. to almost to Houghton, MI. As the crow flies that is 190 North to South that we have our caches spread out. It wakes us usually about 3 full weekends in spring every year to check on them.

I currently have 26 of my own caches out, along with 10 that I've adopted. I think it is a good quality for a WGA director because they are chosen to lead and placing caches is essential for others enjoyment of this hobby. Taking the lead in putting out and maintaining caches shows others in the community what is possible and expected.

5 and 2/3. Still working on the next wherigo. Adopted quite a few more.

Other than giving a better understanding of the review process and requirements for your home area, I don't think cache placing (or finding for that matter) really factors into the BOD. It was almost alluded to in another question, but really it comes down to the BOD works so that everyone else can have fun.

I would have to go through and see which caches I have adopted and which ones I have placed. Total caches that I maintain (or have been archived) is 73 and I'm certain that at least 50 of those I have placed on my own.

It's good that board members have placed caches as it tells the community as a whole that they just don't go out and find caches but they pay it back as well and provide caching experiences for others.
