Hey I was wondering if any of you adventurers could help me out. I am planning a hike on the Ice Age Trail between Richford (Hwy 21) and Skunk Lake (Hwy 10) and was wondering a couple things.

First is there any cell coverage in this area? kind of a no-mans zone for a bit, but it does start near hwy 51 and skims by Wild Rose. Not a necessity but I am hiking solo and its a good backup plan.

2nd, Water! it doesn't look like there are any little creeks or streams anywhere in this area, does anyone know of any hidden water holes? I think I need to drop a string of water caches before I hike otherwise.

3rd, campsites, rather thin in this selection also, anybody know of any campsites along this stretch of trail? Ive got one night 4 miles NW of Richford and one night at Hartman Creek, but could use a night somewhere in the middle, around Wild Rose. (Around Wild Rose means near the trail passing by Wild Rose, I will be on foot and can't go more than a mile off trail) Let me know of ANY you know of in this section of trail please.

4th and most important. What caches would you recommend on this stretch of trail? I am starting with the IATCCs for sure!!

Heres a link to the section I will be hiking......

Thankx everyone!!

I will need to find campsite near Wild Rose on Wed the 18th.

After talking to the the IAT county chapter leader I realize there is no campsite for 27 miles! I can't do that in one day. I would be willing to hike the 3 miles into town if thats what it took for me to find a spot for the night. I dont' need much, 8x8' spot and some water, and I won't even be making a fire so no wood or ring needed.

Anybody know anyone who would let a drifter sleep in their lawn for a night?

thankx

Good luck with your adventure! Wish I could help but I don't own any land in the area.

still hoping to get word from my friend. If worst comes to worst, I will come pick you up wherever you may be in the area. a huge stretch of what you will be walking is hardtop. shouldn't be hard to track you down.

I meant to speak up here earlier, but time got away from me.

I think that we have done most if not all of the caches along that stretch of the IAT, at least till past Hartman Creek. They're all good, so you can't go wrong picking any of them. There are some really good IAT hiders out there! What is so neat about the caches, though, is the journey to get there, and since you will be having that journey by doing your hiking anyway, finding containers along the way and getting smilies will just be the icing on the cake.

Some of the multis and puzzles might be harder, not only because of your "special" way of finding caches, Muggle B, but also because the finals for some of these will take you back in the direction from which you just came, and some are more than a few hundred feet back.

Stay warm, stay dry, stay safe, and have fun!

And hunting season is now open, and while it's not blaze orange time quite yet, it might not be a bad idea to wear a vest or something of that color.

a refreshed and refueled MuggleB was dropped off back at his point of departure from the IAT this morning about 0830. Next stop for him will be Hartman Creek SP tonight.
