I am trying to organize a road trip to qualify for this challenge. It involves finding 2 caches in seven different states in one day. Illinois must be one of them. I am looking to cache in WI, MN, IA, KS, IL, IN and MI. to complete this challenge. We will also complete the Seven is Heaven: Run for the Border Challenge (GC43517) on the same run. If we have time, we can then also grab Indiana's First (GC93)
We would depart from Madison just after midnight on May 25th and grab our Wisconsin caches before leaving the state. With multiple people in each vehicle, the long drive will be much more enjoyable. We will also have much more daylight and hopefully good weather. On the way back to Wisconsin, we can then swing thru and grab the physical caches for these challenges to sign and get group pictures. |

I could be very interested in this -
I would even offer to drive ( split gas of course ) - I have a Tiny Ford Fiesta that gets 40mpg and is a stick or I have a Small SUV - Either one wouldn't be an issue for me. Both Seats 5 but the Car would be squeeze -
Keep me in mind as you get closer to planning this. I |

Looking at the requirements thoe you dont need 7 states - there is a combination of different things - it looks like 7 counties does it? |

That is true for the Run for the Border Challenge. The IL Road Trip is seven states. It is funny that one of the teams was from the Chicago area, but they went south and grab caches in KY, TN, MS, etc. |

I did a number of Wheels00 "Seven is Heaven" caches while working in Chicago periodically a year ago. This is a new one, and great to see another one added to the list. |

You should join us then, CJ. I think that I current qualify for about 4 of them and this trip would make it 6. |

Run & Search has a 7 state cache challenge. I think the final is in the Fox Valley. I don't have the GC Code for it though. |

I will have to see if my buddy wants to do 3 per state instead of just 2 this w/e. |

Well, we completed the 6 state run in just a little over 9 hours. First find to last find. It was a 14+ hour day for Ken and I, with a FTF in Iowa also. We did a min of 3 caches per state. Ken had one more than I did, as we stopped for a virtual that I did back in 2010. We both qualified for the challenge in CA. and the one up in the Fox Valley (GC3DX78).
After I get done with the Devil's Lake State Park outing, I will get the plans for this one finalized. Right now it looks like neonride93 and I are in. I think that there are one or two from The Wild Bunch that might join in also. That would be 4 people splitting the gas. Any more would be in a second vehicle. |

I will have the route file(s) available soon on GC and will post more details in this thread. I am not quite sure how far into MN we will need to go to get the two required caches. It will have a departure time of just before midnight so that we can get the WI caches right after 00:01 hours. I will probably need input from all as to which WI caches to grab, as some may have them already.
Between work, tax season and the Devil's Lake trip, getting a little slammed. LOL! |
