I am toying with the idea of getting out and caching/biking the 34 mile Wild Goose Trail in Fond du lac and Dodge counties sometime when the weather gets nice and the ground is not soggy. This trail could be broken up to reduce the miles of no caches or it could end up being a 68 mile ride there and back again. that has yet to be determined. there appear to be about 30-35 caches placed on/along the trail with a few that may easily be accessed nearby. the trail is crushed compacted limestone.
the trip would most likely be on a Saturday and could start at either end of the trail (near hwy41 in FDL or hwy 60 in dodge) |

Haven't done any of them so I might be interested depending on the date. |

I better do some maintenance before you head out!
Room for more hides, too. I was taping some containers today while waiting for Linda. I know of a nice stretch on the trail that is still void of caches. |

With Froggerz and Sandlanders showing some interest there must be a lot of ice cream stores along the route. |

We're hoping that Labrat will consult any FOTD calendars before picking a date for this possible get-together. |

I'd be interested depending on what the date turns out to be.
N 43.7838 W 88.487286 (Hwy 23 - west side)
N 43.754164 W 88.452147 (West Pioneer Rd - south side)
N 43.784033 W 88.409203 (East Johnson St - east side)
The FOTD place even provides a POI file for anyone that has a GPS. |

Sunday morning commitment prevents this
A 2-3pm start could work out if we had support to transport folks back to the starting locale. If we were to bike the 68miles, I am thinking it would be well after dark by the time we got back (figuring average ride speed at 8-10 mph plus stopping for 30+ caches of varying difficulty - that and stopping for custard) |

Interested . I suggest team with trailers at the end to transport the bikers back (not a fan of 68 mile trip) |

We have a wedding to attend on the 18th, but then most of our Saturdays are filling up, so no-go for the sandlanders on this bike ride, whenever it may occur. Sorry. Someone have a scoop for me! |

We did it on a very windy day ( wind at our backs ) and had a car waiting for us on the end. Still took us better part of a day to do it one way. Good Luck!! Also when you do it there are a few really nice caches within a half mile of the trail on side roads, keep them in mind, just a quick 10 min detour, picks up some numbers and some cool caches! Have fun! This trail was one of my favorite cache runs |

A thought to ponder upon this date. Fathers day weekend, as well as the weekend of the Rock Island Getaway. |

Intriguing. I'll watch for the date and then see if I can squeeze it in. That sounds fun! We have a very busy summer. |
