I know the program people are still looking for an overall lead for the event (know any one that might want to take on that task?), but we're looking for people to work this event. They do not have to be registered Scouters.

The event is September 25-27, with events running the 26th. Setup (I would assume more by those closer to the area) can be done any time the week leading up.

If you are interested, send me an e-mail (Mike@gwd.org) with your name, address, phone, e-mail. If you know of others who may be interested pass on this information.

There are a couple of options for you, as staff.

1. Formally register and pay $20. This gets you meals, camping site, a patch, commemorative brochure, and stage show attendance.
2. Just come out for the day, no charge. While you get a patch and stage show attendance, you would be on your own for food during the day (on-site vendors or off site trip to the many spots close by). You would also not get the commemorative brochure or camping site.

If you wish to register, you may do so at http://www.glcj.org/registration.htm by clicking on the appropriate (Bay-Lakes) council. If you do so, indicate staff (geocaching) and drop me a line too. There is a small transaction fee ($2.12 I think) so the total will be a little more than the $20. The site at http://www.glcj.org is the main participant site.

If you do plan on registering and camping, let me know about when you would arrive (day and approximate time)

We are still hoping to have geocaching run at this large Scout event at the EAA in Oshkosh (September 26th), see www.glcj.org for details on the event. I'm working on some contacts for a lead for this, and have made contact with a person in California who worked geocaching at National Jamboree in 2005. I hope to learn how they did it for such a large group (31,700 Scouts, obviously not servicing all of them even over two weeks) and will be talking to her Sunday. Did they do virtual caches, how did they staff, etc.?

Is the event something you might be interested in helping out with, provided we can get someone to take the lead? Please e-mail me to Mike@gwd.org if you are available and willing to assist.

Thanks
