Ah yes, the countdown. I have a little countdown going, too. Five days until I actually do retire this time. We've become full time day care to a little guy.

And in another bit of pointless drivel....I'm on the board and will become newsletter editor for the local Audubon Club starting in the fall. So tonight is supposed to be our meeting, before which we hold the board meeting. An email came through last night that says, "Board meeting cancelled on account of birds."

Sounds like we'll be birding instead. Gotta love a group that has its priorities!

We work for hugs and fun, not cash. Though we have asked that he find an occasional daycare person so we can do some stuff sometimes. Wink

Wild fire near Barnes, WI.

Looks nasty from the photos I've seen.

We have a red flag advisory here in Marinette and Menominee. No burning - period.

Actually humidity is very low and winds are high so conditions are prime for fires.

Here is the fire condition statement for Polk County:

Due to fire weather conditions, burning is NOT allowed today. Therefore, burning in barrels, debris piles, and grass or wooded areas with your annual permit is prohibited. Campfires, though strongly discouraged, are permitted if used solely for cooking or warming purposes, but please use extreme caution.

So if you are going to the campout, be prepared.
