hi,

i have my moment of fame online today in this article about woodpeckers. my photos are #5 and #35 in the online gallery. i don't know what photos might have been used in print, but if anyone gets that paper and sees that either of them are mine, could you save the paper? i could nab it sometime when we're up that way and would be ever so grateful. tia

But alas, there is only one photo, and it is of a Pileated Woodpecker shown with the online article. The paper then references the others within its photo gallery. So.....anything you'd like us to do for you? Smile Smile

Thanks for the nice pictures, though!

Nope, I kind of figured that would be the case. I didn't send any of my Pileated photos cause they weren't up to my standards. While there were some cool ones included of that one, most weren't up to my standards, either.

The nest hole ones are really neat. I have been trying to locate such a spot for years. I know generally where a pair nests but they are way too elusive to lead me to it.

When I lived in Shiocton several years ago, a pileated frequented my backyard. What an awesome bird.

We have a pileated that comes to the suet feeder at our house, this might sound funny, but we only see him on Fridays, about 4 PM. He starts his loud call, scares most of the other birds away, then eats for about 10 minuts or so.

must be an inside joke, but I must admit....I was a French horn player. Known to have opinions. But it's my right wing that's broken, LOL so not I (in honor of National Grammar Day).
