I found this to be an interesting book -
THE LIGHT KEEPER'S LEGACY by Kathleen Ernst
An island’s history holds clues to a modern mystery.
Solitude at last! Museum curator Chloe Ellefson jumps at the chance to spend time on Wisconsin’s Rock Island, a state park with no electricity or roads. On temporary assignment from Old World Wiscosnin to consult on restoring the island’s historic lighthouse, her research turns up fascinating tough-as-nails women from the past.
Chloe’s tranquility is spoiled when a dead woman washes ashore. Is it an accidental drowning, or has tension over tighter fishing regulations reached a dangerous boiling point? When a second body is found, Chloe finds herself trapped on remote Rock Island with a killer.

I feel like I've heard of that book before but can't think of why. It sounds good! |

Woo hoo! Got our room booked for the day before the WGA chili event. Now just have to narrow it down since we only have one day to explore. |

We have taken the family to DC for many years...Best places to geocache are Door Bluff Headlands and Ellison Bluff Park...They give you exciting terrain and fun caches. We did them with little ones (under 4) climbing the cliffs! Great fun. If you are looking for scenery, then the Lake side has some great trails that are fairly easy to move around in and lots of fun.
Cave Point is a must do. With only one day, you may have to narrow down even more than this. Up until last year we had DC cleaned out, but missed for the first time in 18 years. You will have fun no matter what you choose. |

If you send me a PM with the town you are staying in, I will give you some suggestions of caches in that area that my wife and I have enjoyed. It is easy to drive a couple hundred miles on the penninsula.

Be sure to take the kids to PC Junction for lunch or dinner. The will love the train that delivers the food to you if you sit at the bar. |

That place is great! Unfortunately they're closed until spring. |

Thanks Dave - we're leaving right from the Chili Event for 3 days in Door County. Your recommendations will save me some time. I already looked ar Canal Works, but it doesn't look like a good winter cache - interesting though. |

That is a great place to have fun with your food. We went their with some friends and it derailed right in front of them. i think the cook was exceeding the posted speed limit. |

And now I'm wondering how this snow is going to affect our caching. |

How much new snow did you get there. We're going to SB for 3 days after the event? Leave a stick or something marking the containers so we can find them easier. |
