It's February, but January still sucks.
We just got word that our dear friend with whom we spent time at our "summer home" since 1985 passed away from recently-diagnosed ALS on Wednesday. They had sold their Waupaca cabin this fall, but we had one last memorable sharing time in July, even though he could no longer go after the big bass with Mr. S.

Without membership dues.... probably not.
How many "new" ideas can there be? The WGA logo and link is on thousands of Wisconsin geocaches. The WGA COTM banner is added to several dozen caches ever year, and notifications added to hundreds of nominated geocaches. If a Wisconsin geocacher hasn't seen the WGA banner on a cache page description, they aren't reading them.
As mentioned previously, Chris Walker has kept the Facebook page fresh and active. We host three big events and sponsor a half dozen more each year, all of which introduce new cachers to the WGA.
Do a Google search for geocaching. This website is high on the first page. Try searching for WGA. Same results. First page. (That's something you complained about a couple of years ago, and I decided to fix the problem.) Oh, and on a similar note, check out http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/WGA
We're now on the list...
I hope your question results in some great "new" ideas, but please don't make it seem like we're not trying. |
Not my intention to re-invent the wheel. My thinking is new blood, maybe some new ideas. The FB is great, ,but if your not already part of the WGA are you going to like the WGA FB page. I never said the WGA wasn't doing anything. Take a look at the WGA membership page. Pretty sparse towards the west side of the state. There has to be some fresh and new ideas out there somewhere. I don't think that this thread is the proper place to discuss it. |

Put the WGA link on all of your cache pages. |

Went to leave the house yesterday and looked up at the roof. We have two of those vents that spin around and one of them had ice off of it not sure if it was from the snow or if we have a problem up in the attic. The ice looked like it was coming out of the vent holes. |

Is your attic still somewhat warm? (Like, does the snow on your roof melt and you get ice dams and icicles?) Maybe it's just that warm air melting the recent snow that is on/near the vent, although I don't know why the other one doesn't have ice coming out of it. |

One contributing factor we might all agree on: Baby, it's cold outside!
(And if it is only one of the vents, it is likely on the 'down-wind' vent, indicating a bit of warm attic air is being exhausted. For the roof's sake, even if some warmth is getting up in the attic, you do want it to get the heck out of there, and things just might be working fine, as intended.) |
