does the pronunciation of the 'a' make a difference?
'a' as in uh
or
'a' as in ay
uh historical doesn't sound right
ay historical sounds better but not quite
an historical is just silly. |

Merriam-Webster's Dictionary of English Usage allows for both.
Still... A historical event sounds wrong. An history book sounds wrong.
Solution: Skip History. Take an home-ec class instead. |
