Successful board members are those that work hard to meet goals. It is not enough just to sit back and hope things will get better and tasks willl get done. Events do not plan themselves. Rather, success depends on good judgement and hard work.
Can you do that? Are you a work horse or a show horse?
I notice that we have 10 people running for the board this year, and it is great to see so many great people being on the board. So thank you to all of you!
I also notice that on most of the questions to the candidates, only 5 out of 10 candidates have taken the time to post an answer. Is it safe to assume that the 5 people who cannot take the time to post an answer to questions for candidates are not going to be a work horse once they get on, if elected?
If you are one of the candidates that has been answering most of the questions, thank you, and please share your thoughts about why it is important to answer questions in the candidates corner.
If you are one of the candidates that has not answered the majority of the questions, please tell the voters why you can be a work horse and an effective WGA Board member.
thank you

I make sure to check the forums at least once daily, usually it's more like three or four times for me. I feel it's important to keep up on what people are asking of us candidates. The forum is here for a reason for us to have our voices heard but also the fellow WGA members. Everyone has been asking such great questions! |

In beccaday's defense, she had a key role in planning and implementing the Waukesha Janboree Geocaching event this past Saturday.

Online I try to do everything in a timely manner, I am usually on the site at least 2-3 times a day.
At the events, I try to get there as soon as possible, and try to stay around until everything is cleaned up. |

Even before my nomination, I was on the forums at least 3 times a day (5:00 a.m., lunchtime and after dinner)...sometime lurking, sometimes adding Useless Drivel.
I try hard to keep up with the latest goings-on and it also gives me good ideas to put on the Facebook page.
Concerning the discussions/questions for us all, it's important to read over everything, consider the options and then respond. I've met a bunch of people at events and out in the field but there are a whole bunch more that I haven't talked to yet so it's a great spot to share my feelings and thoughts on these good questions.
My favorite so far was the Pie question. Glad there was a light hearted one out there. |

Thanks Renee! Yes, I'm afraid the Janboree hoopla kept me pretty busy the last week. Trying to save Scooby Doo was quite the challenge! That and the fact that I'm still getting over pneumonia. But tonight I'm sitting down to look at the Candidates Corner tonight and intend to answer all the questions.
So work horse or show horse? Well, the blue hair that I sported at the WGA Picnic may qualify me as a show horse. But I also did hide 4 caches for the event as well as show up early to help out that day as well. Yes, I'd say that I am willing to put in the work to help the WGA run efficiently. I haven't been around as long as some of the others that have been nominated but I have already done some volunteering with the WGA for a few events. I also do check these forums regularly and usually know what's going on with the WGA. I also appreciate the fact that the WGA is on Facebook now as well, as I am on there far too often with the convenience of my smart phone. |

I consider myself a work horse. When I set my mind at doing something, I make sure it gets done! If I need help getting it done, I am not afraid to ask for help!
I also try to anwer all questions in a timely manner, and for the most part I have. |

Work horse
I have been answering the questions because I think it is very important for people to know who you are as well as showing that you are committed. If people are not taking the time to answer the questions, it makes me stop to wonder how much they will personally put into working on the WGA BOD. |
