Anyone know where to camp in the Rhinelander area, I know this weekend is a bad one if you do not have reservations, but might drag the camper this weekend. Would be nice to have electricity as we will be bringing the dogs, and if it is hot, the AC when we are gone is nice for them.
Post here with suggestions.
Thanks |

Camp Tesomas (Boy Scout camp) has a family camping area. It is generally not heavily used. My daughter and her boyfriend stayed there for Hodag Fest a couple years ago, only reserved a week in advance, and there were only 4 or 5 units being used.
Reservations can be made up to a year in advance by contacting the Wausau Homes Scout Center at 715-355-1450 or 800-303-2195. Payment can be made up to 2 weeks in advance at the Weston office (3511 Camp Phillips Road) or at camp upon arrival.
Sites are $15 per night.
All sites include electric and water. |

There is Veterans Memorail Park, on Jack Lake 16 miles north of Antigo on Hwy 45, then east on County J to the park. It is a first come basis, and all the sites have electricity. They have info online about the park and area.
We have camped here in the past and also just 2 weeks ago. We did not have any problem really ever getting a site. We will be going up tomorrow night and don't forsee a problem.
There are caches right in the park, and quite a few in the surrounding area that I have done, and I still got a list of about 30 or more to do in a 20 mile radius plus a few in the park to do yet.
The fishing should be getting better now and heard some fish were on the beds. There is also 3 other lakes close by with good fishing. It is only electric trolling motors or paddling on Jack and Game Lakes in the park.
There is some really nice ATVing in and near this area also. Can not ride ATV's in or out of Park, but just outside the park entrance is a place to park and unload the atv's. Hope this helps! srvive |

Not for sure where we are going yet, but we will be staying at Tesomas some time this summer. I stayed there as a scout many years ago. Will be nice to visit again. |

Not sure if it is still running, but there had been a campground up there that I used to go to as a child. It was called Lake George Camsite. Not sure if it is still there, but was a good place. |
