So far in this thread I have been pro Delorme, but the PNs do have some drawbacks.
First, the PN-20 and PN-40 eat batteries like crazy. The -60 is supposed to be better, but I don't know how much. And... they will even drain the batteries when turned off.
The learning curve is a little steep, but after a short time, you will be able to use the most common features without even looking at the unit.
The screen is easy to read in any light, including bright sunlight, but it's too darn small...
I haven't figured out if this is a pro or a con, but the default proximity beeps (nearing turn, turn now, nearing cache) are different than the Garmins, so they really bug the heck out of zuma. They can be changed to sound more Garmin-like. |

Agree with Black-Cat on the deficiencies with it, it does eat batteries although not as bad as I was expecting, I came into Cache Bash with used batteries and about halfway through the day I swapped out as they were going dead.
And the PN-60 holds 1400 caches in the file, which means using gsak to make the file bigger. |

Does anyone know of a way to save the waypoints created in the field when syncing using the Cache Register?
They always get deleted everytime I sync up, which makes sense, but I wish I knew of an option to keep them. |

Regarding wherigo, there is also an Iphone app which works pretty well. It is called wherigo and was formerly called PiGo, and before that was called wherigo. The story is that Groundspeak sent them a cease and desist when it was called wherigo, so they changed the name. Then, they improved the program to eliminate most of the bugs, so Groundspeak bought it and changed the name back. |

So, I'm curious did you get the Delorme and if so how do you like it?
I never use Cache Register to sync, lost too many waypoints, I always use Topo. |
