Cache Rescue Mission CR1263
||Lone Pine Cache
The cache Lone Pine Cache has been archived. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to:
- Go to the coordinates listed for this cache
- Verify that the cache container no longer exists at this location.
- If the cache container does exist, take it with you and properly dispose of it. This includes any pieces of a damaged cache, and all intermediate waypoints of a multicache.
- Report on the action you have taken and get credit for your work by filing a mission report here and by posting a note on the geocaching.com cache page.
Cache is not a multi. Just remove first stage.

Cache Verified As Being Removed: Yes
Was Cache Container Present: Yes, some pieces of the cache container were found
The container was quite destroyed. The log, which was last mentioned consisted of a receipt, was missing in action. I am sure it has been recycled back into the environment.
While I thought finding the cache might be easier to do in winter, I was quite wrong! The trek to cache and return yielded less than favorable results. In total because of the access problems the mission took almost 4 hours to complete and I was quite exhausted near the end of the mission. Not to mention, I was also quite wet as I failed to navigate the hidden stream near the cache location, although only a foot wide, and got wet up to my knee. What a surprise that was! More surprises awaited me on the return as I tried to find a easier route back to my vehicle but a much longer route for sure. Hopefully no one will need to make the trek back here again.
