• "What a great cache with outstanding scenery and a geological reason for this location. (The source of the Eagle River) This is a challenging cache and one few cachers will probably try but if they do, they will NOT be disappointed."
• "I like a cache you have to think about. A cache that, in the middle of a hectic day, you have just a moment to ponder about it sitting out there in the forest all by itself with nobody else around. Perhaps a chickadee is flitting past it with it’s “chick-a-dee-dee-dee” as it darts from branch to branch. Or perhaps at this moment a red fox on top of the crusty snow- ear cocked listening for a snow-caved mouse- has just given it a curious glance. Eagle Source is out there. It’s not hidden from muggles because there ARE no muggles. It’s a bold brave box. Just sitting there in its wooden chest smugness daring you to make an attempt. There’s no awkward pile of branches to disguise, no decoys, no tiny tucked into the crook of an empty knot micro, no camo cloth- no camo anything. It’s not clever; there are no tricks, and no Internet mumbo jumbo sad little facts to gather like a box of toothpicks spilled on a crusty wooden wide-cracked floor. It is what it is: a box in a swamp in the middle of a Northern Wisconsin forest. You want to log this one? Well, you’d better have some kind of a plan and double tie those laces on your boots my friend. Because although there may be more than one-way to get to this one- they’re all the hard way and I like that. A lot."
• "This cache continues to be, among the over 6000 we've found to date, our favorite caching experience. It combines all the elements of an ultimate hunt: a truly remote location where only the animals go, a long journey to get there and some challenges in the form of terrain and special equipment (for us, our 1750s snowshoes). Only when one has trekked through the tamarack for a few tenths of the mile, coming out into what one realizes is a frozen wetland, does one experience true zen. Set aside all those guardrail caches and experience true zen at Eagle Source!"
