I finally saw the snowy owl that’s been hanging around the area yesterday. My wife and I were taking the back road to Marinette where a few of her friends were throwing her a birthday party…and there it was…perched in a tree alongside the road in the Oconto Marsh just before dusk. Awesome!
And this afternoon I saw a pileated woodpecker fly through my yard. I guess that’s why Oconto earned the Bird City designation:)

01/22/2015 at 2:48 pm #2034002Just got back from my boy’s parent teacher conferences. Nothing too shocking, glad to see they’re adjusting well since the move.

No pics…we didn’t have time to stop on the way. And the woodpecker was just passing through…apparently, it wasn’t very photogenic. I’m going to keep my eye out for the owl though…it’s been in the area for several weeks now.

01/22/2015 at 9:37 pm #2034029I am going to need a huge snow storm (but no power outages) to keep me inside so that I can get caught up on all of BBG’s zoo critters jigsaw puzzles. I’m still waiting for the one of the rhinos, though. 😉
01/22/2015 at 9:41 pm #2034031We don’t have that within 100 miles

Snow storm? We don’t call it that in here! 😉
