I’m not a fan of IPA’s and I still liked Lagunitas Little Sumpin’. I’ll have to try Lagunitas Sucks.

I wasn’t a fan of IPAs, but I’ve grown to like them. We’ll have to give these a try, too. I’ve learned to move beyond my love of Guinness and Spotted Cow!

Because it’s become more and more difficult to find Sprecher’s hard root beer around here, I’ve been looking for a substitute. Last week I got a sixpack of “not your father’s root beer” from Small Town Brewery in LACrosse. Not bad, I’m going to look for some of their other offerings.

Another “old habits die hard” story about Mr. S (if you have been following on the book of faces)… He still likes to get Coors because back in the day it never could be sold east of the Mississippi, so it was a real treat to have. I remember when we went on our first trip to Colorado in 1976, we came home with a couple of cases (and I don’t mean suitcases) in the trunk of our car. We have a few cans in the fridge right now that are left over from the 12-pack we bought earlier this year for ??? (We don’t drink enough to become connoisseurs.)

I remember the excitement of traveling to the Dakotas as part of the college forensics team at Mankato State.   Mostly so we could buy Coors (legal for 19 year olds in SDak) and bring it back to gloat.   It’s not even that good, but what do 19 year olds know?

Good enough for our unsophisticated palates!

I live in the LaCrosse area and haven’t heard of Small Town Brewery. I’ll have to go google. We still have to check out TurtleStax, too. Pearl Street has some nice offerings.

Just got a call from a former student, who is a Girl Scout. It seems that the apple pie that I purchased in July (and subsequently forgot about) just came out of the oven and is ready for delivery.

Whoa, it’s been a long time since there was a discussion of beer on here. It was a staple in the first incarnation of the thread (at least the 300 pages I read of it).

Took another 2-hour trip to get my car worked on today. Listening to a podcast, they mentioned a beer that is made from the yeast grown in/from the beard of the brew master. When they mentioned the brewery, it is just a little bit farther down the road from where I was today. Any takers?

Knocked off three grid squares today. I swear the people in Medford just place things and put the D/T rating at whatever their friends need for finds. Two D5s were just a normal short stroll into the woods in WI. A T5 that was just a short reach into a blackberry bush. A 3.5/4.5 that was a big pill bottle under a couple of rocks.

Walked for two hours and found two D5s that were tiny rolled up containers that were stuck into drill holes that go all the way through telephone poles. I don’t remember ever seeing something like that in a pole before. Is that something that is done in WI?
