Darth is dead. Eleven months and <15,000 miles.  Needs a new tranny.   🙁 😕 😡

I think there was something “funny” in becca’s soup.  She’s on overdrive. LOL

                SL, What was/is Darth?

                #2035763

A while back I thought Lime squeeze was having tranny trouble but the cold weather and frequent short trips were running the battery down and now days the transmission is all electrically controlled.
Keep the battery charged and it works just fine.

I thought Becca had a job!

I guess you will have to find something else to help you ‘escape’ for a while.

Sorry, I would more than a bit angry.  Put the warranty to work.

                  SL, What was/is Darth?

Our 2014 Ford Escape.  We looked out the window one morning, and it looked like Darth Vader sitting in our driveway.

A complete new transmission has been ordered and will be put in on Monday.  We can pick it up on the 24th (we hope).  All covered by the warranty.  They gave us a loaner car, but they don’t want us driving it too much, so we will be putting a few more miles on the 2005 Focus, which still runs great!

They don’t know what went wrong.  Black goo on the driveway, not wanting to shift into gear upon starting.  The transmission in this vehicle is completely enclosed.  We hadn’t taken it anywhere where something could have happened to it.  Guess they’ll perform an “autopsy” after they get the old transmission out.

                    Hooray for the warranty!

Bill, I do have a job but this week the kids are offooff so the teachers can do home visits and conferences. I’m getting my work done too quickly and having down time.

Our 2013 with 25,000+ is still behaving.  Guess a red one doesn’t look very Vader like.

Our Escape (2001) is old, but still runs great with 178,000 miles. Never had a problem with the transmission, bud did have to replace a few electrical components this past year.
